Dear Friends,
The National Multiple Sclerosis Society is kicking off the 13th year of their annual 3-day, 50-mileChallenge Walk MS: Charleston Challenge the weekend of March 1-3, 2013 in Charleston, SC. I am planning to be a part of this event by walking fifty miles over three days and raising a minimum of $1,500; and I'm asking you to join me in the movement to create a world free of MS by making a contribution. Your support will help us meet the event fundraising goal of $670,000 and will help the National MS Society continue to offer programs and services to the approximately 60,000 individuals in the southeastern region of the US who live with MS. Challenge Walk raises money for MS research projects and client programs (40% for important national research and programs and 60% that stays local for programs that assist individuals in this region living with the MS). These funds also help to raise awareness about the disease and to educate the public about the FDA-approved drugs now available which may delay or reduce future disability in many people with MS. Multiple sclerosis usually strikes adults in the prime of life between the ages of 20 and 50. MS is a chronic disease of the central nervous system affecting the brain and spinal cord, causing blindness, paralysis, and loss of movement. The symptoms are vast and unpredictable, bringing uncertainty to those living with the disease. You and I are essential in this movement to create a world free of MS. By donating toward my fundraising efforts, you can help move us even closer to a cure. Any amount, no matter how small it may seem, is helping to get us closer to the day when no one has to hear the words, "you have MS." Please help by making a donation - large or small - to help create a world free of MS. Or, why not join me on the day of the event? Become a participant and side by side, as teammates, we can work together to raise the funds to make a difference in the lives of those living with MS. Whatever you can give will help! I greatly appreciate your support and will keep you posted on my progress. Sincerely, Marcina Clark Click here to get to my personal page and make a secure, online donation. Dear Parents,
Your children have been participating in something very exciting here at St. Ann. They have been creating our theatre production for this year. All the writing, stage design, music, etc. will be student generated. Needless to say a lot of work is involved in this process. The script for the play must be complete by the end of January. Therefore the students will need to stay after school the following Wednesdays in January: 9, 16, 23, and 30 to allow us to reach our goal. We will meet in the library right after school until 4:15. This may conflict with forensics practice on one or two of these Wednesdays. Students should attend the after school forensics practice on Tuesdays of those weeks. Thank you very much for your support. If you have any questions, please contact us at [email protected] or [email protected]. Best, Theresa Bertrand Marcina Clark |
